Well, that's my progress on the Alaska Military Highway as defined by how far I have walked it in steps per day. That boot is making me look pretty pathetic... Today's Goal is a good indication of how many steps I need to hit to get back in contention to walk the whole highway before the end of the 10k-a-day. Last year I attempted the 10k-a-day while pregnant but I had no pants waistline to secure the pedometer to so I put it on a lanyard around my neck. It would bounce off my stomach as I walked about but ultimately it was a pretty inaccurate counter. When Ken ran his pedometer over with the lawn mower, I cheerfully gave mine up to him.
This year I was determined to finish the 10k on my own merits. The advantage of a pants waistline for accurate steps counting can not be overlooked. A disastrous double-header in softball (for me, the team is still undefeated) has left me limping through this 10k however. It's like my pedometer is faintly mocking me as I hear it click slowly as I shuffle down hallways. There's always next year?
