One Year Appointment

We had Bridget's One Year Checkup on Sep. 17th. Bridget is perfect! :) She is right on track with everything and a little ahead verbally in terms of how many words she can say and use. Bridget's newest "tricks" are saying "bye" and waving at the same time and signing "more" when she wants food or milk. We are now working on the signs for "milk" and "all done".

Bridget was 29.75 inches (almost 2 1/2 feet!) which was 60th percentile, 19.5 lbs which was 25th percentile, and her head was 50th percentile. She has been trending on all those curves so it seems like she will be long and lean at this rate. I have to imagine she didn't get that height from my side! Since she isn't 20 lbs yet, she legally still needs to be rear-facing in the car and the pediatrician recommended she stay rear-facing until 2 years old. We upgraded her from the infant bucket seat to a toddler carseat in both of our cars. She seems to like being a little higher up with a better view and a cup holder.

Bridget had to get four shots and blood drawn for a lead test. The pediatrician is recommending the H1N1 vaccine when it comes in.

Ten Months!

Here's Bridget keenly watching an Elmo movie for the first time. She has seen Sesame Street on the computer and she loves Elmo!

Bridget turned 10 months old on June 29th. We measured her at home and she is now 28 inches and 17.5 pounds! She has moved into size 12 month clothing completely now. My cutie is getting so big!

Nine Months

My little Bridget is 9 months already! Where did the time go? It sure seemed like I was a pregnant a lot longer than it took her to grow up to be 9 months.

We had her 9 month well baby check-up on Thursday the 28th. Bridget is doing very well and hitting all her milestones. (Newest trick: she can pull herself up to standing!!) Her official length was 27.5 inches; weight was 17 lbs. The length and head circumference were 50th percentile which is where she has been tracking so far. Her weight had dropped from the 50th to the 20th percentile though. Our pediatrician said she is not concerned since Bridget is looking healthy and it's most likely because she is so active now playing and crawling. Nonetheless, she wants us to add in a third solid meal without decreasing her milk intake. Next week Ken and I are on vacation so we'll try out a new feeding schedule.

Eight Months

Ken and I measure Bridget each month so we can post the updates in her baby book.

Weight: 17.5 lbs
Height: 27 inches

My baby girl has gained almost 10 pounds and 8 inches since birth. She's catching up to Auntie Kathleen! :)
On the top: Bridget feeding herself a bottle
On the bottom: Bridget figuring out how to get the water out of the sippy cup. She lays down next to it so the water is high enough for her to drink it out.
