Apple Picking

Ken, Bridget, and I went apple picking this past weekend with seven families from work. There were 7.5 kids (one is due in a few weeks) on the trip from 4 years to 2 months old. Bridget had a blast being outside with her friends and eating lots of apples.

When we got home, Josefin made apple crisp while the kids played and the adults watched the Patriots. It felt a little like Thanksgiving with so many people and football and good food.

Bridget the Rock Star

Bridget loves playing the XBox game Rock Band. She is especially proficient at singing "yeah yeah yeah" and "Da da da" being her favorite songs, and drumming. We have some great video of both.

And sometimes she just likes to kick back and play regular XBox.

One Year Photoshoot

To celebrate Bridget's first birthday, we decided to get professional photographs of her and the family at Kiddie Kandids. They did a great job coaxing smiles and I am really happy with all the pictures we got. We have multiple copies of each of these pictures so let me know if you want any of them!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE! We are getting a huge print of it for the wall of the house and have some smaller copies too.

My favorite!

One Year Appointment

We had Bridget's One Year Checkup on Sep. 17th. Bridget is perfect! :) She is right on track with everything and a little ahead verbally in terms of how many words she can say and use. Bridget's newest "tricks" are saying "bye" and waving at the same time and signing "more" when she wants food or milk. We are now working on the signs for "milk" and "all done".

Bridget was 29.75 inches (almost 2 1/2 feet!) which was 60th percentile, 19.5 lbs which was 25th percentile, and her head was 50th percentile. She has been trending on all those curves so it seems like she will be long and lean at this rate. I have to imagine she didn't get that height from my side! Since she isn't 20 lbs yet, she legally still needs to be rear-facing in the car and the pediatrician recommended she stay rear-facing until 2 years old. We upgraded her from the infant bucket seat to a toddler carseat in both of our cars. She seems to like being a little higher up with a better view and a cup holder.

Bridget had to get four shots and blood drawn for a lead test. The pediatrician is recommending the H1N1 vaccine when it comes in.

1st Birthday Pictures

Even though Hurricane Danny canceled our pool party plans, we still had a wonderful birthday celebration for Bridget inside the house!

(above) It turns out Bridget has a sweet tooth! She LOVED her cake and all the other treats she sampled on her birthday. She even got cake in her hair which was styled into a fauxhawk.

(above) Bridget liked her Winnie the Pooh decorations!

(above) My FAVORITE picture! Here's the birthday girl all dressed up waiting for her guests. This is the crown the daycare kids made for her when they celebrated her birthday on Friday. She doesn't keep hats on for very long but we were able to snap this picture.

(above) A snapshot of the big cake for guests and the small cake under glass that I made for Bridget to enjoy on her own. The big Winnie the Pooh centerpiece is showing off a picture of the birthday girl.

My baby is turning ONE tomorrow!

I simply can't believe that my baby is going to be ONE tomorrow! Here are some of the last infant pictures...

(above) Practicing walking. She loves going up and down stairs.

(above) Another walking picture. She's getting so close!

(above) Bridget climbing through our coffee table. Even though half her head is strangely shadowed, she still looks wicked cute.

(above) Got you! Time for that change!
